24/12/06 Sunny Sunday
We woke up at 7am, packed our stuff and left Ipoh. Actually we thought of planning to eat the infamous Ipoh Dimsum but too bad we dont know the way
So we just popped into one of the shops and had our breakfast. I like the kaya kuih. Very deliciou
s, almost the same taste as the one i had in Penang. By 8am, we were back into the highway again. Bye bye Ipoh! The weather was sunny and we had alot of fun chit-chating in the car as we were on our way back to Penang. At 930am, we manage to see the toll. As a penangite, the most emotional part would be seeing the Penang bridge!!!! Penang, I am back!! Everytime when i leave Penang, i will feel very sad when i cross the bridge.
It was 15 minutes before 10am, but we were told that we can only check into traders hotel after 12pm. So i called to them to ask for early check-in. Since we still have time we thought of hanging out at the new Queensbay mall or go back to my house to kill the time. Suddenly i received a call from Traders hotel informing us that the room was ready. Hurray! We headed to Georgetown then. What a nice service they had
Trader’s hotel, formerly know as Shangerila Hotel is one of the 5 star hotels in Penang. Never imagine that i can stay in this hotel
Not much time left, need to prepare myself… i mumbled. The clock was tickin
g and i felt that my heart was beating very fast. Was he feeling the same too? We wanted to go to Pulau Tikus to get the flowers as the florist shop near Gama departmental store was closed. But we realised that we might not able to arrive there in time. Our appointment was at 130pm but we need to be there by 1pm. Thanks to SiewSiew, Laymin, YauYau and PeiFen, i have beautiful flowers to go with
We arrived early at the Moral Uplifting Society. Found out that so many people were waiting there as well. My heart pounded very fast. Cant help it
Finally, my parents and my brother Kenny and his girlfriend LayPing came.
Yes it was a special day. It was not just a christmas eve to us. It was not just a holiday to us. It is our ROM
We registered ourselves at the counter. Then, they checked our details and handed us a paper which we need to read during the ceremony but actually i was not really paying attention to that paper as my primary school best friends had just
arrived. Special thanks to SiewSiew, Yauyau, Laymin and Peifen, especially to Yauyau for taking the effort to travel back to Penang from KL just to attend this occasion *touching* and to Siew Siew, sorry for causing u to cancel your plan. *feeling guilty* You guys are so great! It means so much to me!! To MinMin and Evon, thank
you for sending your wishes. It has been more than 15 years of friendship since we were in Union Primary School. Really cherish our bonds so much. Then, Aunty Sian aka my third aunty and Uncle Mun came. Of course, my active cousin Kenneth, Julian, and beautiful Lilian also tagged along. Unfortunately, Aunty Poey, Aunty Kimberly (4th and youngest aunty) and Uncle Leong can not make it. Anyway thank you so much for the lovely gifts!
Then my cousin Eleen arrived
i am so sorry to make u postpone your kl trip because of this *feeling guilty* Next to arrive were my Form6 best friends SeokYong, Phaik Ling, Sharon. OMG, they even brought gifts! Thank you so much for attending this… I know it is like a last minutes thing and I really appreciate your presence very much.
Coincidently Siew and Fen noticed that one of our secondary schoolmate HanYun was having her ROM as well. I guess 24th is a good date. As we marched into the room, i started to feel nervous. The registrar asked us to take our sit. I was sitting on the right side of the registrar with Kenny beside me while he is sitting on the left side with LayPing. Yes both of them were our precious witness.
Then the registrar handed us the paper to read. It was an oath! She asked us to read it either in chinese or english with our right hands up. We opt for chinese. I wonder was it because i was nervous or what, some of the chinese words i totally forgot how to pronounce. The strange thing was we were unable to pronounce that particular word coincidently until the registrar need to remind us (see i am not the only one :P) *LOL* Was having serious thoughtblock
I do , you do …. After that, we were asked to sign the certificate. Once signing that paper, we were engaged aka offically unavailable. (not fully married yet :P) He signed first then followed by LayPing. Then he handed the certificates to me and Kenny to sign. Next is the ring exchange session, I was so nervous until i nearly drop the ring.
The videographer was so hilarious, he kept on making jokes throughout the ceremony and we burst into
laughter. In the first place, I didnt know that there is a video recording service provided by the society. They actually recorded the whole process and burn the CD for us. So nice!
I am glad that they provide this service. We are still laughing at some of the funny scene taken by the videographer until today
Then came the most anticipating session ~ kiss the bride *blush* It was so embarassing to kiss in front of so many people. I cant stop laughing :P. Follow by a small ceremony where the registrar presented the certificates to both of us. Last but not least we took the group photo. The photo session continues even after we were out of the room. U guys ah, so clever in playin
g us
Dont worry there will be chances for us to revenge in the future! KhyeHoo arrived after the ceremony. Feel so bad to trouble him to rush back as he was out of town. Thanks a million.
Well my fellow unimates - Sean, Jillian, PeiYing, Soon Chia, Chee Khoon and TeeHan, thank you so much for the sweet sms and the wishes from all of you. We had our lunch almost 3pm at the little cottage restaurant at Burma Road. Nice ambience with moderately delicious food. They did not have ala carte that day just the Christmas set lunch. I had fish again *yummy yummy*.
Later that day we went back to hotel, plan to try out the sauna, gym and swimming pool facilities provided by the hotel. Unfort
unately, the sun was still shining over the pool area around 530pm and the pool was crowded with kids!! Thus we went to gym. Have been indulging in so many delicious food, just need to burn some of the calories off. Next, dinner at MapleGold restaurant.
Mum did the reservation. It was really crowded at the restaurant and it took us more than 3 hours to finish the 8 course dinner. Overall the dishes were delicious and we enjoyed ourselves very much. Uncle Mun brought wine and with the draggy dishes
presentation they finished the whole bottle. After the dinner, we hang out one of the cosy cafe near the Golden Horse Restaurant in Tanjung Bungah with Mum and Dad, Kenny and LayPing. There was a band singing on the stage. The cafe even provided confetti and ballon for us to celebrate christmas. By the time we arrived hotel, it was half past one.
This marks one of the wonderful days i have in my life.
Thank you so much for making it so memorable to me.
By the way, Siew, Lmin and Yau, we can still receive angpows for CNY
To my other friends, sorry that i didnt manage to inform you about this but dont worry i will make sure that u guys know the exact BIG date.. but not so early
Next to come, our bangkok trip!
