My Best Friend’s Wedding

It has been a while since my last update. Time flies, finally i have finished my study and enjoying the break now. There are lots of things happened recently.. one of the notable events would be My Bestfriend’s Wedding (my favourite movie ) Siewsiew had her wonderful wedding ceremony and luncheon on 3rd of June. That was my first experience to become my best friend’s Sister aka JieMei in a wedding. In fact, I am one of the game masters hehe..inexperience though, Mark was lucky to attend one of the least dreadful wedding ceremony in the chinese society. Hey Siew, I am very nice to him… u stil owe me a USD ang pow ;P

I woke up at 630am that day, went to De Santia to see the beautiful girl having herself transformed into a beautiful bride. Poor Mark, who looked as if he didnt sleep the night before, tried his best to open his panda eyes and greeted us. No wonder people always say that being bride and groom for a wedding is very tiring. You get less sleep the night before and less food to eat on the wedding day as you will be busy meeting friends and relatives. Mark was telling me the day before that there is no need to pass through a couple of challenges in order to meet his bride in her room. According to him, mostly what they did in US is that they will go to church together. Haha I reckon that he is going to have his eyes wide opened when he knows what we wanted him to do on his wedding day. Hey you thought we, as Siew’s best friends, would let you marry and bring her to US easily. However, you are very lucky cause i am inexperience in becoming the game master but i do hope that i have left you some ‘wonderful’ memories on your wedding day. If you want a revenge, do bring Siew back to Malaysia to attend my wedding and revenge on my wedding day

There are a total of 3 challenges, trust me that were quite simple to pass..

Challenge No 1 : Shout ‘SiewSiew, I love you’ at the front door of her house until she can hear you in Second floor.

this is easy right? the Mark that we know use to talk softly and we never heard him shout before. We thought that he might not able to get through this challenge. Initially I predicted that the Brothers would help him to shout and coincidently we had some of the Brothers’ GF as the Sisters. If the GF heard their BF shouting ‘Siewsiew, I love you’, what will be the consequences? hahaha

To our surprise,

He passed this with flying colors!!!!

can you believe a soft-spoken person like Mark would shout like a boy scout Troup Leader (KengHin, u lost to him this time ) but to our surprise, he shouted so loud until the whole neighbourhood heard it. Ok lar Siew, your Mark can shout so we dont have to worry about your safety cause we know that he can SHOUT the villains away. Hahaha. After he shouted his lung out, Mark’s Bestman and his Brothers were asked to have light refreshment while Mark need to finish one full cup of bird nest. You see, we are treating him so well.

Challenge No. 2 Eat a lime, one red chili, one green chili, one chinese medicine drink and milo powder at the staircase

There is one chinese saying you will have 酸 sour , 甜 sweet, 苦 bitter, 辣 spicy in your life. With the help of the Evon’s sis, Doreen, we managed to find four food in Siew’s house on that morning which symbolize this four taste. Yes, it was a last minute thingy.

Lime - sour

Red and green chili - spicy

Chinese medicine drink - bitter

Milo powder - sweet

So we started with something sour. I thought Mark would ask his Brothers for helping him to finish this four side dishes (haha yes lar Siew you are his main course) The reason that we used chinese medicine drink is because poor Ho aka Yau’s BF and KengHin aka Laymin’s boyboy had diarrhea after the reception at Siew’s house on wedding eve. Thus we thought Mark would ask them to help him to drink the chinese medicine use for diarrhea. In the end, Mark ate the whole lime, one red chili and one green chili, drank the traditional specially formulated drink and swallow one table spoon of milo powder. With one table spoon of milo powder, I sincerely hope that you will have alot of SWEET memories with Siew in your marriage life. Are we mean? No !!!!!!

Since he ate all by himself, we were amazed at his determination of marrying Siew. He passed the second challenge. Then we allowed him to go up to the second floor.

Challenge No. 3: Question and answer session at Bride’s room

The questions are related to both of them. The groom knocked the door, we opened it to let him see his beautiful bride sitting elegantly on a plastic chair (you cant see the chair as the wedding gown was covering it). We wanted Siew to see how he reacted during the Q & A session. So we asked him a couple of questions.

Q1. When is your anniversary date?

Ok, our Siew kind-heartedly agreed that he answered it correctly ( i wonder is it because she cant stand Mark was torturing by us, hey Siew we are not torturing him ok? )

Q2. When is the date that you first met each other?

He said 3rd of March. Well the answer is incorrect. According to the Bride, it should be 7th of March. haha it is time for forfeiting. We asked Mark to do pumping for 20 times. At the spur of the moment, KengHin stepped out and agreed to do the pumping on Mark behalf. (KengHin, finally your turn to show off, as i said before, u were wearing jeans that day while other Brothers wearing slacks. Isnt that a hint for us to call you to do something physically demanding )

Q3. Please describe to us how did you propose to Siew?

Mark told us it was something personal and he didnt wish to tell us the story. Ok, we reckoned that the whole thing happen at ‘personal’ time, right? Siew. hahaha. So we asked him to propose again in front of us and he did it without hesitation. That was just so sweet of him.

Q4. Sing a love song related to both of you

He answered none and he seldom listen to music. Finally the Brothers played their role in helping the groom to pass through our challenges by singing 月亮代表我的心.Well we are very considerate and totally understand that Mark cant sing mandarin song

Last but not least and most importantly the ang pow. We mentioned that Visa, mastercard, atm card with pin numbers are all accepted. Mark gave us the angpow but we told them that we want more, however his Bestman said that’s all and Mark followed him said that THAT’S ALL -_- Siew i reckon that u must be thinking dont give us too much, that is your money too hahaha

So we need to let him go through the door and kiss his bride cause the bride cant wait to marry him already hahaha just kidding.. for Mark who loves Siew very much and travelled so far away from US just to marry my best friend Siew, i think he performed very well on his wedding day and i know that he would take good care of my best friend.
