Phuket, here we come :)
19 Dec 2007 Wednesday, Cloudy
The weather was nice, neither hot or rainy, our flight was scheduled to depart at 320pm. Arrived HKT aka Phuket International Airport at 340pm local time (440pm Malaysia time). From the airport we took a taxi that cost us about 550 baht (about RM55) and 45 minutes to our hotel the Andaman Beach Suite hotel which located at the Patong Beach.
Upon checking in, we went out to explore the place surrounding our hotel and looking for the travel agency that recommended by the tourists in the internet - Chong Ko Travel agency. There are three famous activities that we need to do in phuket - firstly visit the infamous Phuket Fantasea, something like genting but minus the casino and add a thailand cultural perfomance, secondly Simon Cabaret aka Ah Kua show, watching beautiful transvestite dancing and lip-synching english, korean and chinese songs, thirdly, visit the phi-phi island. We signed up for some packages which fully occupied most of our time in phuket. Phuket Fantasea is closed on thursday and it is not possible for us to go as by the time we reached the travelling agency it was 7pm local time. So we have no choice but to watch the Simon Cabaret tonight, opt for the phi phi-Maya-Khai Islands half day trip tomorrow and Phuket Fantasea on friday night. I have to say that it is really convenient to travel in Phuket as the transportation is included at no cost! There were alot of seafood restaurants located near the hotel,
some of the workers spoke mandarin. We thought that the food in Phuket is cheap but we were wrong, it is almost similar to Malaysia. Had some chinese-thai cuisine at night and took a walk at the Patong Beach Road. I reckon foreigners are more than the local, and they were riding the motorcycles and driving toyota. Finally by 830 pm a van came to fetch us to Simon Cabaret. It costs
about 500 baht (RM50) per person for the VIP seat. There are two shows perform every night : 630pm or 930pm. When we arrived the place, there is a Simon bar in front of the theater that serves beer and other beverages for the tourists while waiting for the shows to start. Not long after we arrived, the 630pm just finish and you can see the
‘ladyboy’ with their geogous outfit standing at the compound beside the theater, waving at you happily and invite you to snap photo with them, of course you need to tip them. They are so beautiful, you can easily mistaken them as real lady. No wonder i see so many commercials in Phuket regarding plastic surgery. The whole per
formance lasted about an hour plus, they danced and lip-synched according to the music played like in Dream girls, korean songs and also Sally Yeh’s hong cheng kun kun.
If you havent watched the performance before, it is worth watching as you will be amazed at what plastic surgery can do. Next on PhiPhi island
